Designer Christian Siriano Wants to See More Options for Fuller Figured Women
FOXNews.com
The "Project Runway" winner says he thinks it's "fabulous" that there are increasingly more realistic representations of women in fashion
Since winning “Project Runway,” designer Christian Siriano has become one of the fashion industry’s most respected new names. But the young designer says he’d like to see more diversified options for women who wear above a size 8.
At the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show pink carpet in New York last night, Siriano told FoxNews.com that he thinks it’s great that there has been a rising push to include more real size women in fashion.
“I think it’s fabulous,” Siriano said of recent campaigns by magazines like Glamour to include plus size models in their spreads. “I think it’s great and I hope we see more of it.”
Siriano added that, unlike some designers, his line does not hesitate to make clothing for women of all sizes.

“If we don’t have a size in our stock or we haven’t made a dress in a certain size, we make it for our client’s request. Hopefully more designers will make more tens, twelves and fourteens.”
Siriano said it is not always about a favored aesthetic when designers use models in sizes 2 and 4, but it is because the smaller sample sizes allow for an easier presentation because it is the industry standard.
And despite the existence of a full-figured fashion week, Siriano says he’d like to see a more public display of real women in fashion.
“Honestly, I’d love to see more designers and even the plus size designers do a bigger presentation. I think they should do a more public presentation to appeal to all kinds of women.”
